Grace Church of Logan Square
Mission: Studio 3325 Artist-in-Residence Program seeks be an inviting space which challenges artists to explore new forms of creation related to their practice while engaging with the neighborhood of Logan Square and the community of Grace Church.
Studio 3325 is an Artist-In-Residence program at Grace Church of Logan Square. One artist is in residence for 4 months and a new artist is welcomed in the Spring and Fall. An exhibition of the artist’s previous work will be on view at the church during the residency and the artist may use the studio to advance their practice. Grace is a welcoming and inviting congregation and we ask that the artist in residence have the same welcoming approach. We recognize we are a diverse community and have different understandings of faith and spirituality. Therefore, we invite people of all faith and non-faith backgrounds to apply to this unique residency program. Grace is looking for working artists who are interested in being engaged with the community of Chicago and our congregation on an intellectual level. It is our belief that art is integral to understanding our soul, neighborhood, and faith and our goal is to create a space where culture is seen and heard.
The Details: The resident is given a studio space at Grace and access to the building. We ask that the artist is working on site one Sunday morning (10:30am-12pm) a month to answer questions and allow for dialogue with members of Grace about their practice and participate in organized events about the artist’s work for the community to attend. While in residence the artist is expected to regularly maintain the studio.
